We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee all aspects of laboratory operations, including personnel management, resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The role also involves ensuring that all national and international standards, as well as Knauf's quality standards for finished goods, are consistently met. This role involves strategic planning, process optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support research, quality control, and product development. The Laboratory Manager plays a critical role in driving innovation, maintaining operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Main responsibilities:
· Oversees laboratory operations, including the management of staff and resources, to ensure the achievement of organizational goals;
· Develops and implements policies, procedures, and testing methodologies to maintain operational excellence;
· Ensures proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and compliance with safety and quality standards;
· Collaborates with Research & Development, Quality Assurance, Production, and Maintenance teams to support cross-functional objectives;
· Monitors product quality, ensures production compliance, and manages the preparation and maintenance of technological documentation;
· Ensures that all associated documentation complies with Quality, Data Integrity, and Regulatory standards, and is completed and approved within the designated timelines;
· Leads process improvement initiatives and actively suggests and supports personnel training and development;
· Organizes and oversees the official calibration of laboratory instruments in accordance with established procedures and standards;
· Conducts daily quality control checks of products in the warehouse, ensuring proper documentation and reporting;
· Assists in the efficient execution of daily activities, the implementation of technical projects, and the management of new technical priorities. Provides guidance to direct reports on time management and prioritization of tasks;
· Plans and oversees the delivery of laboratory equipment while analyzing production results to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements:
· University degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field (certifications in laboratory management or quality assurance is preferred);
· At least 7 years of laboratory experience, and at least 3 years in a managerial role in an international manufacturing company;
· Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, quality control, and new product implementation;
· Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS), data analysis software, and MS Office;
· Excellent organizational, leadership, time management and problem-solving skills, critical thinking and creativity;
· Knowledge of industry regulations, safety, and environmental standards;
· Fluent in Bulgarian and excellent English (written and spoken).
