We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer to be responsible for the process design, operation and implementation. The successful candidate will be able to improve processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.
Main duties include testing and monitoring equipment, updating current system processes and conducting risk assessments.
Location: Maritsa Plant, Mednikarovo, Municipality of Galabovo, Stara Zagora District
Main responsibilities:
Analyse production processes, collect measurements, and interpret data to identify improvement opportunities;
Design, implement, test, and optimise systems and manufacturing processes;
Develop and introduce best practices, standard routines, and innovative solutions to improve productivity, efficiency, and product quality;
Perform process simulations and evaluate process performance throughout production;
Monitor cost and time parameters to support efficient project and process delivery;
Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe operation of equipment and processes;
Prepare and maintain process documentation, operating procedures, and work instructions;
Provide regular feedback and technical input regarding equipment performance and process reliability;
Support the design and planning of equipment layouts and process flow improvements;
Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues and implement effective corrective actions;
Ensure processes and equipment comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations;
Estimate production costs and support cost optimisation initiatives;
Take responsibility for the safe operation of associated equipment, including process and equipment isolations;
Collaborate closely with the maintenance team to ensure effective condition monitoring and proactive maintenance activities;
Act as a technical expert in engineering-related activities, including maintenance, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives;
Contribute actively to the work of the Engineering Department, including supporting colleagues and providing cover when needed.
Requirements and skills:
University degree in Engineering (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree);
Proven experience in process engineering or a similar role;
Excellent technical skills and knowledge of standards related to process engineering;
Experience with process simulations;
Proficiency in SAP applications;
Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is an advantage;
Good understanding of automation and machine interface systems, including Siemens S7 (and S5 where applicable), as well as other relevant programming languages;
Practical experience with process engineering software;
CAD/AutoCAD skills;
Familiarity with health and safety regulations;
Analytical mindset with strong data interpretation and problem-solving skills;
Ability to identify issues, ask the right questions, and find effective solutions;
Project management skills;
Fluent Bulgarian and excellent English, both written and spoken;
Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure;
Very good command of MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
